The Woodall Building
Over a Century of Springville Legacy
The Woodall Building is the original cornerstone of the city of Springville here in Alabama. As the city was incorporated in late 1880 and the building, constructed by Aaron Woodall, opened the following year with on-site handmade bricks. It's on record and thought to be the oldest historical brick structure in all of St. Clair County.
Originally built as a carriage assembly plant, through the years, the ~3,000 square foot building has been a hardware store, auto parts store, arcade, gym, antique store, florist business, restaurant and since 2019 the most elegant and fabulous events venue.
As an event planner for years prior to renovating the building, the current owner and operator, RyAnne Noss decided to pour months into the care it takes to maintain The Woodall's period style and colors to preserve its history while making it the charming venue that stands before you. The Woodall building and outdoor courtyard can currently accomodate 100 people.
Historical Feeling with Modern Function
Grand Entry Level
The entrance maintains the street-level historic character and flows right into the first-level. This grand area has dark, vintage wood flooring while the ceiling is intentional draped rafters of organza and beautiful brass chandeliers. The entry floor is perfect for weddings, receptions, birthday parties, baby showers, bridal teas, rehearsal dinners and many more event options.
The Mezzanine Suite
A intimate suite occupies this middle level between the two floors. This often serves as a bridal suite for The Woodall's weddings, has had parties as large as 14 bridesmaids and is furnished with period pieces that hold the history of its origins.
Historic Split-Level
Just up the few stairs from the mezzanine on the second level is the groom’s suite, featuring a brick accent wall and leather furnishings with an old English hunting lodge theme.
Beyond the suite on the second floor is the chapel area set off with classic iron railing. The chapel’s metal ceiling, chandeliers and string lights are coupled with vintage flooring and painted brick to create an industrial and antique atmosphere. (The bricks, holding 140 years of history, were handmade in Springville). And much to the delight of every photographer, billows of natural light pour into the chapel through seven large windows.
The upstairs is perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, and many more event types.
Open-Air Courtyard
In back of the building is the picturesque outdoor courtyard with stringed lights, dedicated bar area, privacy fence and a stage. This tucked-away courtyard mirrors the traditional Southern transition from indoor gathering rooms to outdoor social spaces, ideal for intimate cocktail hours, dinners, dancing and gorgeous wedding send-offs.
